On Monday 25th March 44 Transition Year students along with 5 teachers began their 100km trek from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.

Over the course of 5 days, the girls faced some tough walks and atrocious weather but took it all in their stride!
Our walks were punctuated with laughter, deep conversations, acts of kindness, hilarious moments, magnificent scenery and inspiring encounters with fellow pilgrims.
Unfortunately due to illness some students did not get to walk into Santiago de Compostela on the final day.

We the teachers would like to thank all parents/ guardians and Ms. Maher for the unwavering support they provided to us as we took care of students who became ill.
The group reached Santiago de Compostela on the Friday and had an opportunity to explore the city and sample the local cuisine that evening.

Their long journey was a tough one but very rewarding for the students and teachers. New memories created and new friendships forged on an unforgettable experience. The students represented themselves, their families and communities to the highest distinction and really showcased the Scoil Mhuire spirit!
A huge thank you to Ms. O’Reilly for looking after the admin work.

As we bid farewell to the Camino we carry with us memories that will last a lifetime. For Ms. Casserly, Mr. McDermott, Ms. Nugent, Mr. Lynam and Ms. Deighan Flynn, it was a privilege to walk this journey with an amazing group of students,we are so proud of each and everyone of them.

Buen Camino!
